This is my second Screech, my first one was stolen. When I got my Screech, I had four other tents. After I used the Screech, it became my go - to tent. I loved the fact I fit in it; I'm 6'2". It was easy to set up, held all my stuff, and was very well made.
To show how much I love this tent, I'm still using it in 2015!

Fantastic tent so far. If you can find this discontinued model on sale, buy it. Pretty easy to pitch, but not speedy since you have to thread the poles trough the sleeves. Lots of room for two plus ALL of our gear. That is critical in the rainy Northwest. No leaks, no condensation!!! Held up well in a windy rainstorm. The whole tent roof is mesh, great for bringing the outdoor in on a warm enough night. Double doors are good to have, and the HUGE main door is a blessing, essentially the whole side of the tent. The fly has lots of vent options. Attaches on one end with quick release clips and has ties for easy rollback. Also can pitch fly only. Wish it was a pound or two lighter.

This is a great tent design with excellent quality. The tent is spacious, easy to setup and overall a great tent. The only downside is that it is a little heavy.

I like the small touches, including the top vent, extra pockets, double door.

Before buying this tent, I reviewed several in it's range. I was looking for a tent that would comfortable house 2 and gear, withstand 3 + seasons of use, have a large vestibule, and be of the utmost quality. This one won over Moss, Mountain Hardwear, and Sierra Designs.

I haven't experienced any big downpours, but agreeing with all of the reviewers, seam sealing is a must.

I got the tent from rei for only $199 which really made it that much more attractive.

I just got back from a week long trip to North Manitou Island where my Marmot Screech received it's first outing. The weather the first few days was horrible 35 mph winds and torrential rain. The screech barely even flinched under these conditions. Inside it remained stable, relatively dry and roomy enough for four guys to hang out while waiting for the storm to pass. Overall excellent quality. Especially nice touches are the large vestibule, easton aluminum poles and the tight fitting rain fly. The tent door works like a charm and ventilation is awsome!! Two down points however. Even though the fly is factory taped you will still need to seam seal the points just above the yellow velcro closures that allow the tent to be set up with only the poles and ground sheet. We had a problem with those five spots occasionally letting a couple drops through. Also the vestibule requires 2 hand s to open and close, it snags very easily. Other than that the tent was awsome, great job Marmot!!!

This is a great tent. The first time my girlfreind and I used it we got poured on. The tent kept us and our gear safe and dry. When we did realize we had to bail due to hte weather, it packed up fast and neat. Plenty roomy for the two of us, our gear and our dog.

Customer Service

I would reiterate Johns review earlier. Used seam seal around the velcro closures on the fly. the leak a bit in the heavy rains. Since I did that, no problems period.

I like the tent. I have only used it twice since I got it, but it set up quickly and easily. Once it was guyed out it was bomb proof and easily withstood a windy night on a bluff. Definitely use a groundcloth, because the thin bottom will be easily punctured, but that is the same with any tent. it was very roomy, and offered a multitude of ventilation options.

This is a great tent. My wife kept warm and dry in this tent with my daughter while I suffered with my son in a no-name leaking tent during our first outing with this tent in an Oklahoma Thunderstorm. I agree about the snagging but would also seam seal around the six contact points where the poles go in. Use only ""seam grip"" for this. It was nice that all three poles are the same length so setup is easy. A downside is that the owners manual is for all marmot tents and does not have any special instructions for this tent such as setting it up with the rainfly only or any special use of the vestibule which it is supposed to have.

Customer Service

I told them about my concern and they were going to mail me a manual but I never heard back from them.

What an awesome tent! I have been pleased with every aspect of this innovative, efficient, and quality piece of equipment. For the very popular and competitive market segment of a 3 season, 2 person backpacking tent, this (in my humble opinion) is the best tent out there-and when figuring into the equation that I got it for $229 at one of Yahoo shopping's stores, its a tremendous value as well. The quality comes through in the construction and innovative touches, like the 3 equal poles, numerous pockets, handy burrito bag, gear loft (optional, but very convinient), and really neat vent-this is a cool tent. Plus the color is just a cool scheme.
The very first time using this tent was in the Grand Canyon in March. Perfect weather for a 3 season tent right? Well, the first night, we got dumped with 4 inches of wet snow, with temps dipping in the low 20's! The tent did such an excellent job of keeping us safe, that we didn't have a clue that there was any snow around us untill we got up. The tent kept us warm, because outside temperature felt dramatically colder. We had some problems with venting and moisture accumulation, but that was hardly a problem with the tent's design-the snow accumulated so much that it sealed off the space under the vestibule for the air to flow. The vent helped this problem a lot.
After that experience, I have been a faithful fan of Marmot and my Screech tent. I compared this tent to all the other comparable 3 season, 2 man tents from North Face, Sierra Designs, etc. The quality was noticibly better, but the price was steep. However, once doing a bit of internet searching, I was totally knocked out by the $229 price I found online. Like I said at the begining, an awesome tent!

I couldn't believe it when I saw this tent sitting on teh clearance rack at REI. Brand new, never used. I needed a lightweight tent for backpacking (I also own a Moss Titan) and thsi fit the bill. My second suprise came when I used it. I Love This Tent! I is roomy, stable, quick to pitch, well ventilated, and not deppressing on rainy days. It is worth every penny at full price, a rediculous value at what I paid. I highly reccommend this tent.

Great tent. To combat that last worthess review I thought I'd pipe up. You just can't beat Marmot quality. A great company with a lot of nice gear.
The Screech is no exception.
I'm not that mad about the color combo but it isn't a fashion show.
