at fabiano Summary: i purchased a closeout pair of fabiano Edwardo(774) boots at $90.00 and a pair of fabiano Moutain Master(772) for $100.00 this was in 1996, they havent failed yet and dont need a resole.
the swiss tanned vachetta gallusser leather is as close to god in a boot as you will get.
i will seriously cry if i have to ever replace them.

at pro-deal from Scarpa Summary: I would give Scarpa's Delta a 10 out of 10 making it the best boot I have ever worn. After 200 miles of break in followed by 1800 miles of the Appalachain Trail my Deltas were only halfway trashed. I would not even have replaced them if an immediate resole had been possible. I instead had to settle with a brand new pair to finish the trail. Broke only one of the laces(dry rotted). very few break-in blisters but of course that depends on individual foot. Great boots. at Alabama Outfitters Summary: I bought a pair under the name of Scarpa Delta. I originally considered purchasing a sturdier and heavier pair of Manta's, but was talked into the Delta by the salesperson. He was totally correct. This boot is extremely comfortable, yet very sturdy. I backpack in it, and it carries the weight with no problem. However, it is light enough to comfortably day hike in, or even to drive the car to the trailhead. I like the fact that it is not Gore-Tex, because this allows the leather to breathe better and keeps it cooler. Without question, this is the best boot I have ever owned. Backpacker
, from Portland, Oregon Summary: (Note: Fabiano boots are now sold under the name Scarpa.) I bought these boots in March of '99 for general backpacking purposes, and to date I have nothing but praise for them. I was originally looking for a heavier pair of boots, and at first these seemed a little light weight. However, the contruction is so exceptional that they outperform many other boots weighing far more. The one piece, 2.5mm full grain leather uppers are very tough, and few seams means a high degree of water-proofness, especially after they have been treated with Nikwax. Other boots with pieced together uppers are not nearly as durable or water proof, even if they have Gore-tex. The midsoles are fairly flexible, but the uppers are so supportive that stiffer ones would be unneccessary. The only reason I chose these over the SL's, which are more rigid, was that they fit my heels better. I have put a couple hundred miles on them since, much of that with heavy loads and on rough trails, and not once have my feet felt grumpy. Break in time was about two weeks of constant use. Customer Service: No need yet for service. Similar Products Used: Scarpa SL, Vasque Sundowner, La Sportiva Makalu
