Summary: I love these shoes, very comfortable, but the fit is not for everyone. I tried on 6 pairs of boots (mostly Lowa) before I decided on the Odysseys (and they were on sale). I even tried hikeing around in a pair of Lowa Tanarks, but had to bring them back.
The only down side is that my laces just broke. I could understand if I abused them, but the grommets seemed to chew through the laces from day 1. I have only put about 250 miles on mine so far, so be sure to bring an extra pair of laces with you before tekking the rockies. (or sand down the teethy grommets.
Customer Service: Eh, I''ll skip the time on hold for the $7 new laces ..

Summary: Everything ever dreamt for a hiking/backpacking boot. I merrily used the Odysseys during an early spring four day jaunt on the Laurel Highland Trail. After days or elevation gain and loss these boots are sturdy, rugged, tracted, dry, ventilated, and comfort galore. Don't be jealous, go find yourself a pair and before you hit the trail work 2-3 coats of Aqua Seal into the beautiful chestnut colored leather and your good to go for 2000+ miles.

Summary: Excellent shoes. Used for a four-day canoeing trip. I was the one carrying the canoe during the portages, and on one day I did eight of them for a total of over 4 km (carrying a full backpack and a canoe). The shoes provide great support in the ankle area, and are absolutely waterproof. I had to step into a stream for a few steps, submerging the shoes entirely, and was very surprised when my feet were almost dry. These shoes were a bit over my budget, but I would buy them again.
