Price Paid:  $0.00 at LL Bean

Summary:
I recieved these as a gift 7 years ago and I still love them. I have a long but narrow foot, and these are the ONLY hiking boots I found in a mens narrow sizing, so they actually fit properly. I have re-waterprofed them and replaced the insoles to extend their life, but I dont look forward to replacing them. When I do i probably will get another pair. After 7 years of intermitent use they are still in wonderful condition and perform excelently.

Price Paid:  $100.00 at duh!

Summary:
Worth every damn penny. Long lasting, both fabric, soles, and Gore-Tex. Used for camping and such, but mostly these boots saws college years of snow, mud, and rain in the NY snowbelt. Probably tons of beer spilt on them too. Dog ate the tongue and I plan on getting another pair of bean Gore-tex boots.

Price Paid:  $110.00 at LL Bean Catalog

Summary:
I have had the boots for a few years and they have proven quite durable, comfortable, and waterproof. In fact, they would be the favorite pair of hiking boots I have ever owned except for one thing - they are horrible in wet or slippery conditions. In those conditions - think fall with lots of wet leaves on trail - I fall at least once per hike and come near to having my feet go right out from under at least 3 or 4 times.

Due to this problem, I am considering new boots. However, its hard to otherwise beat the good qualities of this boot for the price.

Price Paid:  $119.00 at llbean.com

Summary:
I bought my Knife Edge boots right after they redesigned them, making them all-leather with a nice rubber toe rand and some sticky vibram soles. The day after I got them in the mail I went on a 16 mile hike with no discomfort. I wore them extensively to work (Outdoor REC. jobs) and play for 3 years, including a grueling trip into the Winds with a 75 pound pack, and in the Sierra. With such loads, the stitching finally gave out, but the boots remained comfy and waterproof. I would consider this boot for light backpacking and day hiking, and would only complain that the tongue gussets don't go all the way to the top of the boot for deeper stream crossings!

Customer Service:
I just sent mine back to LLBean for a repair/replacement. Lifetime satistfaction guarantee makes LLbean the only choice for boots!!!

Summary:
These boots are very comfortable and are very waterproof. I havent taken them on a big trip yet, but i think that they will be a good pair of boots to have. Also, the traction is superb.
