Price Paid:  $230.00 at Hudson Trail Outfitt

Summary:
Unbelieveable! It's as if these were made for my foot specifically. I have a shallow foot, and after fitting into numerous others, SCARPA is the best. No blisters. Break-in took a while, but well worth it. Lightweight yet extremely durable. HTO no longer carries SCarpa though...

Customer Service:
none needed so far..

Price Paid:  $224.00

Summary:
What a boot! I don't own this boot, but got a good look at them. Its by far the stiffest "backbacking" boot I've ever held, and even stiffer than some mountaineering boots. Its an old school boot with Norwegian welt and "rollerskate" leather uppers. It has stiff heel counters and apparently some toe counters as well. If you find one, try to flex it with your hands. You can't. It needs serious break-in. But given its design, it should last for many many years should you choose to buy and break them in. For the $224, you get a very seriuos boot. It can double as a light mountaineering boot but seems built for long lasting backpacking. Heck, if you're attacked by a mugger in the city, you can kick the crap out of him!
