at Ll Bean Summary: Love the Knife Edge! The Cresta is a great boot, but it does not have a toe rand and mine always looked like hell due to major scuffing, etc. Would highly reccommend the Knife Edge to anyone looking for a great light-mid weight boot. Let's face it, if you are doing heavy packing neither of these boots are really adequate. Customer Service: Excellent! Similar Products Used: Bean Cresta Hiker

Backpacker
, from West Chester, PA Summary: I have had my Knife Edge for about five years now, and it is finally time to trade them in! They have served me well in terrain varying from the White Mountains to Virgina Appalachia. Very well waterproofed (I re-grease them after every wet trip), no break-in time, never too hot, offer good support, roomy toe box. My one complaint is that they are not great downhill in rocky terrain. New models might be better at this. New ones also have Vibram. If considering this price range, look at the Bean Cresta Hikers. For a few bucks more, you get higher tech. Customer Service: Can't beat Bean's service. Period. Similar Products Used: None
