at Canoe/Kyack shop in Summary: If you like to do several things (paddle around, snorkle, and surf), but can get only one boat, this is the one.
It's super stable, easy to paddle and easy to jump off and get back on. Great for the beginning paddler or kids. Even though I've been paddling for several years, I still have fun in this boat, it's hard not to.
Surfing: It does extremely well in smaller waves (1-3 feet) and sloppy conditions. In fact, when it's really sloppy, I don't know of a better platform to be on to surf. It's stability makes it super easy to bounce over the continuous barage of whitewater. As it starts getting bigger and cleaner, I've often wanted a higher performace boat made expressively for surfing, or a surfboard.
If you want to do some more long distance paddling or scuba, then the Scrambler, Scupper Pro or WS Ride are better platforms. The Frenzy really pushes rather than slices through the water and it doesn't track well either. The Scrambler does OK in the waves, but it's length can be a problem. Same with the WS Ride.
If you're looking for a high performance surf kyack, mid-to-long-distance paddling machine, or scuba diving platform, look elsewhere. If you want a fun surf boat, short paddling machine and great snorkling platform, go with the Frenzy, you won't be dissapointed. Customer Service: Haven't needed it Similar Products Used: Scrambler, Scupper Pro, WS Ride, WS Kaos
