Price Paid:  $379.00 at Retailer I worked for.

Summary:
I have used this tent in several winter/fall epic's and have always been completely pleased to use it. Set-up is not exactly fast and easy, but certainly reasonable - even in strong winds/gusts. The Citadel is excellent as a basecamp type tent. Solid and unflappable, especially when guyed out. It's on the heavy side, but you don't get this sort of quality, space, durability, stability in a double-wall without some sacrifice. There is not another 4-season tent that "breathes" as well as the Marmot. None. In fact, check out the imitation TNF is up to in how they are providing vents through the fly-sheet (e.g. Ambition35)- JUST LIKE THE CITADEL has use for years. Plenty of room for two winter climbers, trekkers, back-country skiiers etc. Three is possible, but... Also, two doors/vestabules are great - one for cooking and storing plastic-boot shells, packs, etc and one for entry/exit. Also, coming back to base in the early winter dark is aided by the reflective guy-out points (also being imitated). Quality is impeccable and internal storage options are well thoughtout as well.

Customer Service:
I spoke with the tent designer during the research phase and he wasn't very nice. However, all other contacts have been great. I usually inquire of additional tech info - which they readily share.

Reviewed by: Kyle Dale ,  Backpacker , from St. Louis, MO, USA

Summary:
I have used this 4-season tent hunting in the heavy snows of Montana and even in the backyard getting pelted by an unexpected sprinkler at point blank range. It is 100% waterproof and tough as nails. The only drawback is its price and the weight (about 11 lbs). However, if you plan on being in high winds and heavy snow it is a must. It is very comfortable for 2 people (3 would be tight) and room for gear.

Customer Service:
I called Marmot once. They were not very nice. Their gear is a good buy if it is on sale.

This is my only experience with a 4-season tent.
