Climber

at Galyan''s (can you b Summary: My first piece of protection was this hook. I bought it for a demonstration
on aid climbing. Over the past few years, this hook has definetely taken me places.
I used it on a sketchy mixed climb for a little A0 piece of mind.
I've taken it to the Flatirons and taped it behind flakes. Acctually, I used this hook more than
anything else when leading the Third Flatiron. When I started aid climbing with a ghetto
daisy chain, I used this as my fifi hook. And now that I am getting better at aid,
I just love placing the cliffhanger, whether behind weird flakes, on sharp edges,
or everything in between.
I do have to admit that this is not an uber-hook. There have been many
placements I blew while testing with this hook. And sometimes the move was too sketchy
because of this hook's size has a tendency to wobble on super-tiny placements.
However, any aid climber must realize that throwing some super-hook onto a nobbin won't always result
in a perfect placement. You just have to be cautious and use your friggin head.
If you want a hook of this size, get it. It will last you many adventures and you will learn to trust it more than
any other hook or its size. Happy climbing Similar Products Used: Pika, Metolius(Lucky?)

, from Pittsburgh PA Summary: A useful tool for any rack. The hook will hang on even the smallest of edges, and will not swing or swivel when making these scary first steps on it in etriers.
