$0.00 Summary: I tried on various helments, and found the BD fit better than most. I can wear it alone or with a bulky stocking cap.
After wearing it awhile, the straps have softened, and it fits even better. I often forget I am wearing it. In hot weather, I find it cooler to wear the helment than a cap as it vents better. Customer Service: Not needed. Similar Products Used: Edelrid, Joe Brown

at pro deal Summary: My half dome has done well repelling pebbles and saving my head from bumping under roofs ... but I have always had a hard time fitting it. I picked this piece of equipment because I trust BD and like its features, including the suspension system. It adjusts by velcro in the back, unlike the petzl crank systems that can catch on hair. I still find this very easy to use, but the helmet is often riding kinda far back on my head. Tightening it to keep it in perfect position results in unpleasant friction between the buckle and my chin. Consider these when you buy your next helmet:
Pros ... lightweight, durable, simple suspension, style
Cons ... tightening vs. sitting right issue Customer Service: I pro dealed this helmet while working for REI last year. The helmet arrived a couple weeks after the order, very quick service for a pro deal. Similar Products Used: Petzl Ecrin Roc, Edelrid

at REI Summary: Great Helmat. I have tried the Erin Rock and I admit that it is a good helmat. Look to the Half Dome if you want a helmat as good as the Erin Rock that looks better, is more comfortable and is less expensive. Similar Products Used: Petzl Erin Rock

at REI Summary: I tried several helments years ago, and found them uncomfortable and distracting.
When this helment came out, I decided to try one based on past experience
with BD gear. I really like this hement! At first, the connectors on the nape strap
were uncomfortable. After a days wear the problem went away.
This helment fits with a folded-up balacalva, stocking cap, or with a bear head.
I find that after awhile, I even forget I am wearing it. The chip strap buckle
can't be repositioned, and once in a while it bothers me, but isn't a big deal.
Ten minutes later I have forgot all about it. The headlamp clips are great.
Simple, clean design, easy to use and fits great. Customer Service: No need Similar Products Used: Joe Brown, Edelrid, others
