at on-line retailer Summary: The 8096 is a very well-made compass, and as intended works well with GPS. Unlike the Suunto plotter compass it has smaller 100-meter confidence circles that work better with GPS now that positioning accuracy has improved (Suunto needs to update its product). UTM scales on the baseplate are clear and easy to use, plus you get a Lat/long and UTM scale included. The compass dial is large and has markings for each degree, the circle over circle dial is easy to adjust, and you can preset declination. Demerits: the baseplate is fairly large and bulky, and I miss the 8099's sighting mirror when taking bearings to landmarks. Similar Products Used: Suunto GPS Plotter compass Brunton Eclipse 8099
