Strengths: Quick pulse rate for easy adjustments when playing the victim. Also longer range than other digital models 63meters approaching analogue and surpassing some analogue ranges--old F2 Ortovox was 55Meters....Multiple victim search is only version with automatic read OUT... Best price and value. Easy to use in all other digitals in panic or dark situation.
Weaknesses: Not as heavily advertised. No directionals but faster than Trekker and Barryavox that only have 30-40Meter range.

Riding Style: Backcountry
Product Year: 1999
Summary: Easiest to use in all adverse weather and panic conditions as deemed by three key canyon and avalanche safety experts in places that count. Montana, Utah, Colorado..... Best range in digital catagory: -Single antenna gives almost double the range of Trekker.. -Four AAA batteries ..One more at least than any competition. -No grid search ever again, saves time... Note, the Norwegians are not using the new design. Also, they are not technical in knowledge or researched this item as I have.
Strengths: 60 meter plus pick up range, Four batteries more than competition. In a panic or darker search this is the easiest to use and see. Lights and sound intensify upon victim approach. Simply the best and underdog, who says the French are adversely affected by their social system.?! fast, this is the revised model simple, no buttons for multiple victim search...Like other Digitals.
Weaknesses: Large women on mopeds, oh yehhhhhh.

Summary: This unit could be better, the range is much to short compared to the the "old" analog system. The tracker is much better in the way of reaction time and accuracy. It also have a bigger range "25m". If you have an old system, i would wait a bit to see how the new Mammut-Barrywox performes, its a combination og digital and analog systems. If not, buy the Tracker.
Strengths: Compact size, easy maintainance. Beautiful design. Easy to use, when you get close to the victim, it gives light, meters and distanse.
Weaknesses: This years model is reacting too slow on movements, the new model is supposed to be better. It does not really work before you are on a distanse of 10 m or closer.
