For the most part, fleece pullovers are a dime a dozen. Why should you shell out a bit extra for a marsupial? Because (as is often the case) Patagonia has sweated the details and produced a superior garment. The fleece fabric is nice polartec in a heavier weight; so, it's pretty warm (although the wind whistles right throuh it). I believe it's even made from recycled plastic soda pop bottles, so you can even sleep better at night knowing that your purchase is making a small contribution to saving the environment. The worksmanship is great. The cut is great. The front handwarmer pocket is great. The long front zipper is great. The marsupial has become my favorite fleece. It works perfectly as technical gear or around-town wear. Highly recommended.

Customer Service

I've heard that patagonia customer service is great. I've never needed to test it. Products are usually bombproof.

For those raised on Snap Tees, this is the next generation. Back before the Gap or Old Navy was offering fleece, I had a pile of Retro Jackets and Snap Tees. Now you will find me hiking in a Marsupial - almost identical to the Snap Tee except it has the pouch pocket in front. Say I''m cross country skiing and I want to fiddle with my boots or get a drink, I now have a quick little pocket for my gloves. Or when I go for a jog in the snow, and I start by wearing gloves but it''s too hot after 3 or 4 miles - I have a place to stash my gloves when I''m jogging. All in all, these are still the great fleece with outstanding Patagonia quality that you''ve come to expect.

Customer Service

Unbelievable how nice they are on the phone or by email
