at Cabelas Catalog Summary: This line is an excellent value; however, the performance does deteriorate over time. I find that cleaning and dressing the line before each outing will bring back the "out-of-the-box" performance for 3-4 hours, but by the end of the day, the line just doesn't have the same zip. I've found that Orvis Wonderline does not deteriorate as quickly; although, I've heard many reports of Orvis lines cracking. I haven't had any problems with the Wonderline, but I've only used it 5-6 times. Strengths: Price & Overall Durability Weaknesses: Requires cleaning and dressing before each outing Customer Service: Excellent Similar Products Used: Orvis

, from Encino, Ca. Summary: When I first used this line it was smooth, and shot to distance very well. The line coating is bright green similar to Cortlands’s 444 and seemed supple yet somewhat stiff. After about 10 fishing trips the line began to attract dirt like you would not believe. I didn’t do as good of a job of cleaning the line as I normally do, I usually clean the line after every fishing trip, but the slick soft coating that came with the line out of the box transformed into an abrasive sponge. The surface coating began to stain and no matter what I tried to do I couldn’t get the coating back to normal. Even with this problem the line was still very fishable, it’s performance just deteriorated.
I wouldn’t place this line in the same category as the other major brand premium lines from companies like Cortland and 3M, but at the same time, it doesn’t cost nearly as much either.
This would be a good line to buy if your resources are limited and you take excellent care of your equipment. The line casted and mended decently out of the box, my only concern would be for long term usage. Strengths: Price. Price. Price.
Weaknesses: Short Life Similar Products Used: Cortland 444, 3M
