Review Abstract
“The best line” some enthusiasts “have ever fished” with is the Hy Flote Extra. This “affordable” line offers “smooth” and “effortless” casting, terrific floatation and flexibility. It does not coil easily, and the “hard outer coating” ensures “durability” during rough conditions. Hy Flote Extra is a winner with consumers.

Summary:
Great line. Casts well. Shoots great. Slik coating. just plain old GREAT.

Strengths:
Low memory, shoots great, repels dirt and algea, $$$,

Weaknesses:
I was casting one day and it broke in the middle of the line. (about 60 ft in) I didnt know that you could get a refund from orvis so i went out and baught a Wulff signiture series..By the way get the Orvis line before even thinking about the Wulff line...wulff is a peice of junk for the $. Well anyways i broke the line in mid air. I think it was a weak spot in the core.I finally refunded it with no problem

Customer Service:
Great. Called up about my break in the line and they said "ok you can trash that one a new line will be there in a weak." Sure enough it was there in 5 days. Customer Service is Great with Orvis

Summary:
Great line. No problems once the end loop is removed.

Strengths:
High floating, good casting, coating does not attract algae and dirt as much as some other lines.

Weaknesses:
The orvis end loop attached absorbs water and sinks. It also gets heavy and interferes with leader turnover.I removed the loop, nail Knotted the leader to the line and have been pleased with the improvement.

Customer Service:
Have not had to use it, but Orvis has a good reputation here.

Body of Water:
Small Lakes and Ponds

Summary:
I bought this line because the SA was not casting very well and wanted to step up to a better line. I have been pleased with the line. It coils on me some but like I said before it may be due to my lack of knowledge. I am a beginner. The loop makes it super easy to tie on different leaders during my fishing trips. I can go from Bream to Bass within a minute. I like the value as long as it lasts me a while which I am sure it will. I have an Orvis rod that the 6wt line is on and I will definately be buying more Orvis products down the road.

Strengths:
Hi-Visibility, Floats high on the water, easy pick-up, easy casting, smooth, light, supple.

Weaknesses:
Price; but as long as it performs and lasts its not really a weakness. It has been coiling on my pretty bad but that may be due to my lack of knowledge of casting and I need to clean the line and stretch it one good time.

Customer Service:
Have not had to use them, but understand them to be tops.
