Review Abstract
Consumers applaud the Rio Windcutter. This “versatile” unit can be used as a floating or sinking line. The “slickness” lets you cast further with a delicate delivery. Tips are “interchangeable” and the zipper pouch provides simple organization. The line “flexibility” allows the Rio Windcutter to successfully handle a variety of weather conditions.

Price Paid:  $55.00 at Dan Bailey

Body of Water:
Blacfeet Reservation lakes

Favorite State:
Montana

Summary:
I have the standard Windcutter for 6 weight. The design of the line is such that the tip is actually 5 weight, and it then tapers all the way to 7 weight before returning to a 6 weight running line. I have used $50+ lines before and this one made a huge differrence right out of the box! Very easy to cast. Great for heavy flies and windy conditions. Yet it is delicate enough when you need it (but how delicate can you get with a 6weight?)..

Strengths:
Power in the wind, and for big flies. Very easy to case long distances.

Weaknesses:
Almost none. Because of the lighter tip, it takes a little more line to load today's stiff graphite rods.

Customer Service:
Unknown.

Price Paid:  $130.00 at kaufmann's streamborn

Body of Water:

Favorite City:

Favorite State:

Favorite Country:
usa

Summary:
Despite the float/loop weaknesses noted above, this line is really a dream to cast. I would recommend it strongly for anyone wanting to get into spey casting.

Strengths:
The great castability of this line is unbeleivable. While I still haven't mastered true spey casting, I can get out unbelievable distances with brush, obstacles right at my back. The alternate heads that come with it have broadened my tecnique. The custom built rod I use was made from super economy blanks which makes the performance of the line all the more impressive.

Weaknesses:
I feel the line could float better. It needs constant cleaning/redressing and even then doesn't float as well as other lines I've had in the past. Also, even with oversized guides on my custom rod, the loops on this line make winter use almost impossible once ice forms.

Customer Service:
good

No really similar products used. I've preferred Scientific Angler lines but did have a Cortland lazer line as well

Great line. Stays very soft and supple -- even when very cold. Very low memory... any curls can be eliminated by pulling (stretching) line off tight reel. Highly visible and definitely makes easy work of windy days.

Favorite State:

Favorite Country:

Summary:
I really love this line. I perviously fished a Cortland Laser line and I don't miss it. I fish on a river where it can be important to make longer casts, and this line is definitely the one for the job. But, when I head to the Smokies to fish the little park streams, it is right at home making delicate presentations with little dries. It always turns over even the bigger nymphs. Over all, this is a fantastic line. The true test will be in seeing how it stants up the the test of time.

Strengths:
Versality. This line truely can delicately present a size 18 Adams or launch a size 6 stone straight into the wind.

Weaknesses:
Due to the double diameters of this line, it can be a bit awkard in the mid ranges of 20-30 feet.
