This is RIO's one line does it all configuration. Created from the Windcutter fly line design, it has a stiff non-hinging loop system and two interchangeable sinking tips. Unlike other sink tips, this...

Body of Water:
No-tell-um Creek

Favorite State:

Favorite Country:
USA

Summary:
Great overall product. I own these in 7wt, 8wt and 10wt and Versi-tip MidSpey as well, and have fished them for all species of Pacific Salmon. Excellent product and highly versatile.

Strengths:
Versatility, strength.

As for their loop connections they are some of the best I have used, I build my own rods and use oversized guides and have had no issues. I typically distance myself from the fish at the shore slightly and therefore don't strip the last 10 feet of line in anyway to get it caught up. Good way to break a rod anyway.

Weaknesses:
If you can fish a flaoting line a true floating line will server you better.

Customer Service:
Excellent

Summary:
good overall package. cost in line for what you get. i recomend this line to all my friends.

Strengths:
convenience on river/lake when changing heads. great casting line over twenty feet.

Weaknesses:
loops hang up on eyelets making short casts hard. you can compensate for this by simply stepping back from your target, or roll casting.

Reviewed by: Anonymous User ,  50+ days a year , from Berkeley, CA

Summary:
Got the line for salmon fishing in Alaska and it performed well there. It has a large diameter floating head which enables the line to easily turn over the sinking tips and large flies. The floating head portion and running line are high floating and easy to mend. The loop to loop connections rattle through the guides like the connections for a regular shooting head but never caused any problems for me. The line is primarily good for long casts and seemed to work best when shot soon after the connection got out of tip top. Because the loop to loop connection is 15' into the line, the line is clumsy to use for nearby fish. Also the coating on the sinking tips did not seem very tough, as I noticed after fishing from an aluminum boat that in several places small pieces of coating had been scrapped off.

Strengths:
Convenience of not having to carry multiple spools; high floating body which mends well

Weaknesses:
Not suited for short casts; coating on the sinking tips does not seem very tough

Customer Service:
No experience

Price Paid:  $129.00 at Fly Shop

Summary:
All other Rio lines I've used I was pleased with.

This one doesn't compare to other similar products. I'm sorry, but it doesn't. I know they are changing or at least considering changing their loop system. They'll have to or the boxes will collect dust.

Strengths:
The floating running line...floats nice and high.

Weaknesses:
From the moment I put it on until it finally disolved it hung up continuously passing through salt water sized tips. I lost several fish when it did so.

Customer Service:
I called the service company in October. They were to send me some heat shrink tape matching their type to try and rebuild without sending back. It is now January and no tape and no call. Today I'm sending the line back and simply asking them to do what they deem fair.
