Summary: I own 4 G. Loomis rods and think they are great. But what happened? I just replaced my GL-3,#6 fly rod{Because of damage I incurred during an outing.}and I'm shocked at the difference. The reel seat on this rod compared to my old one has gone down hill. A single tightening ring instead of two. The performance characteristiks has also took a dive. Using the same line I've lost at least 15 feet of casting distance. Where did the little extra kick go that G. Loomis rods were known for?
Customer Service: They definatly stand behind thier warranties.

Summary: This is a light, powerful, durable, and versatile rod. My buddy uses his in the salt, and has caught several hot 8# coho and a 14# chinook on it. The tips on the GL3 rods are a wee bit stiffer than, say, the GLX, but to me that makes the rod more versatile for casting weighted lines, like full sink and sink tips. This is a great fishing and casting tool. I've broken Loomis rods before, and have not had a problem with customer service.
