Reviewed by: Anonymous User ,  50+ days a year , from Milford,CT,USA

Price Paid:  $495.00 at Stratford Bait & Tackle

Summary:
If you are looking for a high end rod you should give this one a good look. It is expensive but you get a rod thats buetifuly constructed and you will have for years. Orvis's 25 year guarantee is one of the best. They will give you a new rod if it breaks, evan if it's your fault!
Another good thing about this rod is Orvis offers it in a Silver Ladel version, that uses the same blank. It's also half the price.

Customer Service:
I haven't needed it yet.

Reviewed by: Matthew Rollo ,  50+ days a year

Summary:
I have tried every salt water rod on the market. I fish inshore from Maine to Cape Cod. Anyone who knows this area knows how windy it is and how good your casting technigues need to be.
There is no other rod on the market that lods like this rod does. I don't have time to wait for the rod to load and have the wind blow a system of 90' of line in my face. This rod loads and releases with ease. The rod guides add to the casting efficiencies as well.
Also I have caught some very large fish on this rod. I have had it bent in a semi circle and I am amazed at its fighting abilities and strength. This rod is an investment, but if you are a serious fisherman this is for you. Orvis 25year guarantee makes the price worth it.

Customer Service:
I have had the rod for 2 years. When my handle came unglued, Orvis did take it back and fix the rod. However, I was disappointed I had to live without a rod for several weeks. They should have given me a brand new rod like the guarantee states. Fortunately it was in the spring and not the middle of the summer. However it works well and I don't have any other complaints
