Summary:
This is an outstanding rod for small streams. It has the action and performance of a Sage XP without the price. If wind is not a factor and you want a softer action, then you might want to go with the Powell LTT series of rods. Either way, you save $$$$ and get the same quality as a Sage rod.

Customer Service:
UNMATCHED: My tip section of my old Powell rod broke while fishing (not the fault of Powell). Since my Powell rod was discontinued, they sent me their new top of the line Legacy Series rod to replace it. Can you beat that!

Similar Products Used:
Many. Most similar to the Sage XP.

Summary:
This is an excellent small stream rod that can compete with the very best: The Sage SPL series. It also can compete for about $100 less. It is actually a bit more substantial in the butt and midsection and will throw larger flies. It doesn't have quite the sensitive tip of the SPL, but nothing on Earth does. If you are looking for a small stream rod that can go to the rivers during periods of low water, you would be hard-pressed to find a better value.

Customer Service:
I have not had any experience with Powell customer service since their move to Rancho Cordova. When they were still in Chico, it was impeccable.

Pretty much every rod made in the last 20 years.

Summary:
A great rod and one of the best I have ever used! Cast it once and took it home. Powell has a winner on its hands with thisseries of fly rods. I either sold or gave away all my other 3 weights and will purchase several other Powells this year.

I took the rod to to a local shop and tested it against several other rods in the same weight class and the Powell was the number one choice, out casting several rods costing $200.00 more.

Summary:
If you are looking for a short pack rod that has plenty of power then this in my opinion is a great choice. It is finished to perfection right down to the last detail. Really a beautiful piece of craftsmanship.
