at Jay's Sporting Goods Summary: I drove a four hour round trip to purchase the 8-wt Sage DS2 because I loved my DS2 4 & 5-wts. Later that day, I was out to test it, and it was all that I had hoped for. Some say the DS2's are a bit soft, and I have to agree that they probably rate toward the medium end of medium-fast action. However, I am one that prefers this type of action. Customer Service: Never used for fly rods. However, I recieved a friendly and prompt e-mail regarding a catalog request. Similar Products Used: Sage DS2 4 & 5 wts., St. Croix Imperial.

at Kittery Trading Post Summary: I have the 9 1/2 foot model. It is a great big water river rod for Salmon. Does not want to throw a lot of line though. It is forgiving and casts well. Great for the price. Could use a removable fighting but. Similar Products Used: St. Croix 8/9 weight

, from The Woodlands, TX Summary: This was picked as the easier rod over the Scott Voyager (an excellent rod too). Ours was the 4-piece model and worked great for our Alaska trip. Now will test out for the saltewater and local freshwater lakes! Customer Service: Not required. Similar Products Used: G. Loomis, Scott Voyager

, from chicago, IL USA Summary: Great rod for $200 bucks. I've had for 3 years, broke one which they replaced, though it took 4 weeks. This is a great Salmon and Steelhead rod, sensitive enought for feel, with a strong butt for fighting 25 lb. fish on 8 lb test. Way better than orvis or loomis at the price point. No complaints. Customer Service: took 4 weeks to get replacement, so not so great Similar Products Used: orvis, loomis
