Price Paid:  $595.00

Summary:
Sage 691-4XP: This is hands down the finest 6 Wt. I've ever cast or fished! I've used it for Steelhead on the Trinity and even Silver Salmon in Alaska when my 8 wt. couldn't handle the wind.

Customer Service:
Pretty good, but they've had been alot of turnover in the past so you might get a different person each time you call.

Using the XP is best thing I have done for myself and my clients. I have fished the whole gambit of rods and have found nothing that compares to versatility of the 9'6" four piece XP.

Customer Service:

Price Paid:  $585.00 at Feather-Craft

Summary:
I am reviewing the 6110-4XP. I use this fly rod for Steelhead and Small mouth. The 11` length makes mending line easy. I get 60-foot casts with ease and pinpoint accuracy. The length makes it tip heavy. I have matched it up with a Ross Canyon 5. I have the drag to handle the Steelhead and the weight to give it balance. I own a number of fly rods and use this more than any other. If you like fast fly rods I do not think you will find a better fly rod. The only thing I have found to be faster is the Winston XTR.

Customer Service:
I have broken a few. Just follow the instructions on your warrantee card. Ship your broken fly rod to the repair address and you will receive your fly rod back repaired. No questions.

An awesome big water rod. Long length makes for easy mending. Great for streamer fishing and throwing big nymphs with weight.

Sage is one of the best customer service companies. Most of the time quite fast too.

Reviewed by: SteelieKeith ,  40 days a year , from Stockton, CA

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
I purchased the XP 6101-4 (w/fighting butt) rod specifically for fishing Steelhead rivers of CA such as the Feather, Yuba, Trinity... and summer run Steelies in OR. This rod has a incredible amount of hidden power. If you are using the indicator technique, a WF7F long belly line works perfectly. For swinging, 130-150 grain sink tip or Rio's Versitip WF6 matches the rod's action ideally. It is light in the hand, allowing me to cast this wonderful rod all day on multiday trips. As for its "backbone"... it does just fine on most of our CA Steelhead rivers and summer-runners in OR (except for the occasional double digit Steelie in big water!)

Customer Service:
The absolute BEST in the industry! Once, I broke the rod (my fault) one week prior to going on a multi-day float trip on the Rogue River in OR. I contact Sage about my dilemma and they expedited the
