at Pollacks, Toronto Summary: I have the 8'8" 4 wt. 3 piece G and absolutely love it. In fact, I love it so much I picked up an 8'0" 2 wt. 2 piece G. I got them both in a clearout sale, so the pricing (CDN$) was brilliant, but even at retail, these are a good deal. I'm normally a pretty fast action rod caster (and still am for bigger water fishing), but both of these rods can throw line. Obviously, they are small stream, small fly , low wind rods, but they have more mid and butt strength than I would ever have thought. This was a surprise. I mean, with the 4 wt. I can throw just as much (or more) line than my fishing partners can with their med/fast action rods. However, they are an absolute dream in the necessary short, accurate casts used on small trout streams, and when you get even a small trout on these rods, you know it.
If you enjoy small stream trout fishing I can't imagine a sweeter casting rod(s). Even when casting 20' you can still feel the line load. But, these are not noodles. Not only can you throw a lot of line when you need to, but you can roll cast and mend nicely.
These rods haven't changed in something like 30 years for a reason - they're damn fine rods. Customer Service: My brother broke the tip of his 8'8" 3 wt. 3 piece G, yes another G, and he simply sent it to Scott through his local Scott dealer and 3-4 weeks later it came back fully replaced. He paid the delivery charge, but that's it. No calls, no explanation, just done. Similar Products Used: Loomis GL3, Scott STS, Orvis Trident, Powell, St Croix Legend

at ebay Summary: I have the 9' 4wt. and really enjoy it. It's a great medium action rod that complements my casting style. If pushed, it can lay out a lot of line, but it's best used for medium to short casts (where you usually want to put a fly anyway). Customer Service: never used Similar Products Used: Orvis--Sage--Powell--Fisher--Teton (probably closest to the medium action, but these rods are hard to find now).

at Denver Angler Summary: I have been very pleased with this rod. I bought the blank and made the rod myself. I would recommend this rod to anybody who fishes for trout in a variety of settings. I use it on rivers and high mountain lakes, and have caught fish over 20 inches (pretty good for a 4-weight) Customer Service: Good Similar Products Used: SAGE RPL 590
