$0.00 Summary: Been using the 5 piece 3wt for a couple of years now and am amazed how versatile it is. In addition to being light as a feather it has incredible power when needed to land large fish in fast water. Long casts are not its speciality but if you fish from 20-40 ft its perfect. Will handle weighted nymphs with strike indicators easily. Customer Service: Excellent Similar Products Used: Sage, classic bamboo

at www.westernanglers.c Summary: MODEL Scott G703/3: WOW! This is a wonderful rod! This model is a 6' 10" 3 weight, and I purchased it primarily for small mountain streams. It is the perfect rod for this application. I was first impressed in the backyard, where I was able to make 40 foot casts (over-kill for mountain streams) with ease and accuracy. On the stream, it will load and drop a fly at 10 feet with just as much accuracy and delicacy. The rod tip is soft enough so you don't yank a 6-inch brookie back at your face on the strike. I am a Scott Fly Rod diehard, but looked at and casted several brands (Orvis, Sage, Winston, etc.) in the 6 1/2 to 7 1/2 foot (Sage doesn't make a rod less than 7 1/2 feet), 3-weight range before buying this rod. It is by far the most superior rod in this range. I put a Ross Colorado #0 reel on it, making an outfit weight of 5.3 ounces (minus fly line and backing), which is extremely lite. Since I was struggling with whether to get a 6 1/2 or 7 foot rod, the 6' 10" Scott solved the dilemma, and I haven't been hung up in the trees, yet. I want to be buried with this rod! Customer Service: Unconditional Lifetime Warranty. Never had to send a rod back to Scott, but they are nice folks who don't mind chatting with you about fly fishing and rods. Similar Products Used: Orvis, Sage, Winston.

at High Desert Angler Summary: It was hard for me to buy this rod. It was more money than I wanted to spend. But I am not sorry not even in the least. I coupled this rod with a Sage 3000 reel. This is a system that one can easly recommend to anyone.
