at Private Party Summary: I love this rod!!! I have the 8'6" 5 wt. and use it for virtually all of my trout fishing. I would say that it's closer to medium action than fast action. I casts with accuracy and it's great for longer casts as well. My other 5 wts. offer no comparison. I have a Heritage that's an absolute cannon but lacks the up close touch that this rod has. This is definitely my go to rod as far as trout are concerned. Customer Service: We'll see in a few weeks, although I've heard that it's great!!! Similar Products Used: Heritage 9' 5wt., Cortland CL, Hardy glass (will get it in the mail soon)

at Ebay Summary: Excellent rod, responds quickly and sends the line anywhere you could want it. Before buying, I cast several of the over priced and well-known "parking-lot" rods. In the end, I went for the SAS. The 6wt was a bit too fast, but the 5wt seemed perfect. Try this rod, it performs very well. Customer Service: No need for them yet. at Denver angler Summary: I have owned this rod for 6 years and it has not failed me yet. It has handled fish from 10" to over 20" with ease. I have casted many other brands of rods at fly fishing shows and nothing compares to the scott in its price range. I liked this rod so much that I also purchased an SAS 3 weight and a SAS 6 weight. Customer Service: Great!!!
I split the cork on the handle of my 3 weight. I sent the rod in and they replaced the entire but section including reel seat and I had my rod back in 2 1/2 weeks as good as new. Similar Products Used: Sage,Orvis
Have only casted these at fly fishing shows but in both cases I had to get up to rods that cost 3 to 4 times as much as the Scott to get to something that casted and felt even close.

at Upcountry Sportfishi Summary: Great ROd for the $, would be a great rod if it cost more too! What it lacks in looks it makes up for in performance. The action allows accurate casts but also can heave a fly if you have to. Customer Service: TBD- hopefullt not! Similar Products Used: Sage XP, Orvis, St. Croix, TFO

at Cabelas Summary: This is a great rod. Mine is a five piece travel rod. It has caught up t ofive ound fish with ease. When my 5 wt Sage RPL+ 4 pc. travel rod broke on the same size fish, the Scott was able to handle the stress and help me land the unexpected 'beast'. A little slower action that I'd like, but I have fished from 3x to 7x tippet (with 12 ft. leader)and the rod handles that entire range. Customer Service: Have not had a chance to use it.
