Price Paid:  $190.00 at Bass Pro

Summary:
This rod gets it done. Have only had it for a few monthes. I use it to catch trout on dries and nymphs. I have landed a 10lb steelhead on this 6wt, not a ton of backbone but it got the job done with out breaking 6lb tippet.
The action is med/fast, can load quickly, but cast 70+ ft with ease. I will be using this rod as my shallow water smallmouth rod too. I cant put it down.

Price Paid:  $210.00 at Galyan's Outfitters

Summary:
The St Croix Avid is a vast improvement over the Imperial, which is a great rod in its own way.I noticed how versatile this rod truly is,it generates line speed instsantly and is extremely light and the rod action is nothing short of phenominal.I was actually headed out to buy the orvis TLS until an older gent recommended the avid.Boy was he right,I got the same action, and quality, for 100$ less.Like I said I owned the imperial for years now and it was my fav. That was until I fell into some cash and studied catalogs for weeks, but test a St. Croix avid when you look to upgrade,it doesn't cost a fortune for the best.I have the 4 piece travel rod and it is very easy to pack,I keep it under the front seat of my car its so small! And its a 9 ft 6wt.

Customer Service:
Lifetime warranty,ya just cant beat that!

Summary:
The StCroix Avid is a great rod for the money. It has a medium-fast action which is great for casters who want the rod to load quickly but don't want the risk of breaking the tippet when setting the hook (as some fast action rods do). I highly suggest this rod.

Customer Service:
Haven''t had to use it, hear it is great.

Price Paid:  $180.00 at sportsmans warehouse

Summary:
I would recommend this rod to anyone regardless of experience. it is a great value and performs very well. better dollar for dollar than other more expensive rods.
Unless you are passionate about telling people how much you pay for your fishing equipment, I feel that $180 is a great buy. The rod feels great in your hands really great when there is a fish on the other end!

Customer Service:
very good. I have had no issues with them. have heard compliments from co-workers about shutting rod tip in tail gate and st. croix had him another rod in a weeks time.
