Price Paid:  $695.00 at Winston factory

Summary:
A first-rate product. As you'll see from my other Winston reviews I prefer the old IM6 Winstons for trout fishing, but the BL5 has a faster action that makes it great for longer casts and heavier weight lines. I used this rod for salmon, and for large (8 lb and up) trout in Patagonia and was completely satisfied. Typical Winston high quality, functionality, and good looks.

Customer Service:
The best in the business. Be aware that Winston now includes a postage charge, which I don't mind but some might find annoying.

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
With a floating line at medium casting distances this rod is a joy. It is easy to control loop size and allows you to make a good presentation with an 8 wt line. If you want to throw heavy sinking lines or heads, I think there are better options. The flex goes well down the shaft of the rod making it hard to give a heavy line much zip.

Summary:
very easy to cast for a 8 weight rod, has relatively soft tip but a stiff but section that generates a ton of power, you must try this rod!

Summary:
A very versatile rod, floating lines, sinking lines, shooting heads, this rod does it all. I am currently using it for pike wich means casting big wind resistent bugs into the wind, NO PROBLEM! dont forget the travel convenience of a 5-piece rod! you'll swear your casting a 2-piece!
