at Outdoor World Body of Water: Mosquito Lagoon Favorite City: Titusville Favorite State: FL Favorite Country: Brevard Summary: I have been fishing a Nautikos #9 for years, for Redfish, Seatrout, Bonefish, Dolphin,Snook and smaller Tarpon. More importantly you can push big ole flys through the ever blowing wind out on the flats.
I was disapointed to hear that Loomis discontinued the rod and when I snapped the rod tip off of mine a month ago they said they were going to send me a Crosscurrent, which I haven't had a chance to use yet. I just hope its comprable. Strengths: Power, wind cheating throwing big flies Weaknesses: It may be a bit stiff for some folks and its not the most delicate thing in the world. Customer Service: It's not the worst I have ever seen. They use an expediter service for broken rods you pay them 50 bucks and it is fairly quick to get another one sent out. (Some companies I have waited months for a new rod) However, I was a little dismayed that they told me they had discontinued the Nautikos and would have to send me a Crosscurrent as a replacement instead, the person on the phone really had very little interest in explaining what the crosscurrent was like in comparison to the Nautikos he basically said, "you got a broken rod and this is what we replace it with, you want it or not?"
Also after researching it the Crosscurrent retails for about 100 bucks less then the Nautikos did when it was purchased. Similar Products Used: Loomis GLX, St Croix Legend, Scientific Anglers, Orvis

50+ days a year Body of Water: Rappahanock -- Favorite State: VA Favorite Country: USA Summary: Highly recomended. This rod is very versatile, a joy to cast, and a good value for a top of the line saltwater rod. Strengths: This Rod cuts through the wind like a knife. I find it casts heavy flies very well, a great striper rod. The oversized guides are a godsend for shooting line. This is also a very attractive rod, nice finish with good detail. Weaknesses: None whatsoever Customer Service: Never Needed Similar Products Used: No other saltwater rods. GL4, Reddington fresh water rods.

50+ days a year Summary: GLoomis makes great rods. This one is no exception. Throws line perfectly. I thought that, being a three piece, the rod would feel segmented but it doesn't. It is solid and feels as if it'll last for years. Strengths: Throws line easily. Fast action is truly a fast action. Three piece. Weaknesses: Color, cost Customer Service: Great. Never had a problem. 40 days a year Summary: A very strong rod for long casts on the flats. I was making 100ft casts within a few minutes after picking it up. I did not have tailing loop problems at these distances as I would with other fast rods. Strengths: Very fast action, but very predictable and accurate. Great flats rod for long casts in windy conditions. Weaknesses: Does not roll cast well and would probably not mend line well. Customer Service: Not use yet. Similar Products Used: Orvis, Scott
