, from Orlando, FL Body of Water: Offshore - Florida East Coast and Puerto Rico Summary: Great rod for medium to large saltwater species. Just caught a 30 lb. Bull Dolphin on a trip. I like the foregrip handle. May look into replacing my Scott HP8812 with a Sage RPLXi 12 wt. Strengths: Good offshore rod for Dolphin and Bonito. Easy to cast, excellent foregrip. Powerful butt yet easy to cast all day.
Weaknesses: None Similar Products Used: Scott HP 8810, HP8812, HP8415

, from CA Favorite Country: New Zealand Summary: This is a great rod to fish for large inshore saltwater. It's nice and lightweight to cast all day, very stong backbone and sensitive tip. Strengths: I have the 3 piece model, and I must say it is my favorite rod! It's very lightweight and the grip is comfortable for casting all day. I took it up to the Bay of Islands in NZ for yellowtail, kahawai, trevally, etc and it performed brilliantly. Stong enough backbone to lift yellowtail from the deep, but sensitive enough to feel trevally nibbling the fly. Weaknesses: Expensive, but the warranty and high quality of product make it worth it! Customer Service: Broken a few rods, sage always has them back to me within a few short weeks. Similar Products Used: Sage RPLX 11wt

, from Seaside Park, NJ Body of Water: Island Beach Favorite State: NJ Summary: A great rod for rougher conditions. The old RPLX was a little stiff for me. This rod is perfect. You can really feel it load. Strengths: Light weight, not too bad if you fish it all day (8hrs +) Weaknesses: none Customer Service: The best around Similar Products Used: RPLX

, from Pensacola Body of Water: Gulf of Mexico Summary: I said everything in the strengths column, I have this rod in a 11, and a 13, and I can't wait to buy a 9 to see if the lighter rods are as good, if they are, I may never buy a different brand again Strengths: This is by far my favorite rod to cast. I had to put a twelve weight line on the rod to get it to load fast enough for short casts to cruising tarpon, but when you need to get a fly a long way in a hurry this rod easily will cast into the backing. It is also light enough to blind cast all day for small tuna and dolphin. Weaknesses: I wish i had the fighting grip on my 11, but I heard the new 2000 models have it so the problem is solved. Customer Service: best in the industry, they will next day out a new rod to you in case of an emergency, to save a trip with no questions asked and you can send them the broken rod when you get home Similar Products Used: G-Loomis GLX, Scott
