Price Paid:  $380.00 at Shoff Tackle

Body of Water:
Tyfi/Gaula

Favorite City:
Bristol

Summary:
I use it with shooting heads mostly, out of 8 rods fishing 5 were Sage 10151, this rod seems to out beat the other Sage 15 footers on the water. I am reasnobly new to this game but those who know seem to use thse rods by choice.

Strengths:
very powerfull rod, doesnt seem to mind over powering the rod if you want to.

Weaknesses:
expensive but I buiult this from a kit from Shoff tackle to Sage Spec to save ost

Price Paid:  $750.00 at Alnö sportfiske!

Body of Water:
Ljungan

Favorite City:
Sundsvall

Favorite State:
Medelpad

Favorite Country:
Sweden

Summary:
If you fish a large river with large fish ...this rod can be the difference between a cigarr and a fish and faliure!

Strengths:
10150-3GIII! This rod has a power in all different angles and all different ways of casting that I've never felt in any other rod ....ever! In the spring I use 800 grain lines, this rod does not only lift them without any troubles ..it also sends the line 50 yards and the rod doesn't seeme to be abit disapointed doing so ...just aim and swing. Than it's easy to think that troubles will rise when using floating lines and similar ...but this rod handles them all ...you don't control this rod ...it controls you!

Weaknesses:
This rod has a bit of a strange action ...the top of the rod is doing alot of the work, this akwires a kind of brutal way of getting the whole 15' to get in to motion ...the oposit to a Loomis but twice as good!

Customer Service:
Like a Rolex :-)

Reviewed by: Anonymous User ,  50+ days a year , from Stavanger, Norway

Price Paid:  $600.00 at Sommers, Aberdeen

Body of Water:
Norway, Russia

Summary:
Rod 1060-3. A great rod for fishing big rivers. I like best a 16 feet rod for the extra yardage and line/fly control compared to a 15 feet.

Reasonnably light, lighter than any other 16' rod on the market except G.Loomis 15'6", very powerfull, handles long #11 lines with ease (the rod is rated #10 but works better with 11 lines).

Can cast 150' line (Rio Accelerator) with single / double spey relatively easily, when timing correctly the Forward cast.

Not a traditionnal rod (soft)like other spey rods, but not too stiff either, therefore handles well the underhand cast with shooting heads with minimum movements amplitude.

In conclusion, this rod was worth every pound I paid for it (at 390£ it was a bargain, was sold as a sale item because Sage have discontinued its production), if you are looking for a big salmon rod and find one somewhere, grab it, you will not go wrong with it.

Strengths:
Light, powerfull, Quality of material and built Workmanship, Carrier bag and tube. Not too stiff.

Weaknesses:
Does not accept old, big footed reels

Customer Service:
Not needed yet

Reviewed by: Anonymous User ,  20 days a year , from Finland

Body of Water:
Teno River

Favorite Country:
Finland

Summary:
Very light to fish, the required movements are short. Nice rod, but the price gives me the creeps. It also misses that last kick with long speylines sometimes needed fishing big rivers. Short stroke makes it useful for shootingheads and. Get a smallfooted reel for this one. Works nice when fish is on.

Strengths:
light, four pieces, very nice butt and forehandle, works well with shootingheads, nice finishing, pricy

Weaknesses:
Blank seem to collapse when extereme power used in windy conditions or/and in seek for great distance with a long line. Bigfooted reel won't fit in the reelseat properly. Backhandle could be a bit thicker.
