Review Abstract
The Sage Traditional Spey 9 wts is a “non-fatiguing” rod, ideal for all levels of fishermen. This rod is a “solid” performer for single/double speys as well as overhand. Gripping power is “firm,” allowing “comfortable” fishing. “ Loading is “simple” and requires minimal effort. The heavy sink tips allow “even casting.” Fishing enthusiasts can handle larger fish such as salmon and steelhead “effortlessly.” Rough weather conditions are no problem for the Spey 9 wts.

IF YOU WERE ONLY GOING TO HAVE ONE SPEY ROD THIS IS THE ONE I'D RECOMMEND YOU START WITH. BUT DEAR GOD ARE THEY GETTING 'PRICIE.'

Strengths:
BEST ALL-AROUND 2-HANDER FOR MODERATE SIZE WINTER FISHING YET. WILL HANDLE 250 GRAIN SHOOTING HEADS FOR DEEPER-FASTER RUNS AND STILL MEND WELL. WILL HANDLE FISH WELL IN TO THE 20# RANGE EVEN IN FAST WATER. LARGER SPEY OR WEIGHTED FLYS ARE NOT A PROBLEM TO CAST EVEN WITH THE HEAVEY SINK TIPS

Weaknesses:
NONE NOTED YET, ALL-BE-IT YOU KNOW YOU'VE FISHED AFTER A COUPLE OF HOURS WITH A HEAVY SINKING TIP AND WEIGHTED FLYS FOR WINTER FISHING FAST WATER.

Summary:
Very good rod for beginners and expierienced spey fishermen. I 100% reccomend this rod. The only downside is affordability.

Strengths:
Very easy to cast! Good grip. Very fat not standard diameter which is good for spey fishing.

Weaknesses:
Not any. Very expierienced casters may not like it because its casting is basically limited to single, double speys and overhead casts.
Expensive.

Summary:
Great rod but depends on method of casting style. If you're performing single and double speys--teriffic! Needs a little faster action for more advanced casting style. Over head casting-excellent!

Strengths:
Great beginners rod. Light in weight.

Weaknesses:
Not fast enough to suit my style of spiral roll casting.

Customer Service:
Sage is without a doubt the finest rod manufacture.
