Summary: Dave Scadden ordered one of the first Pac 1000 Outcasts for me. I fin in my float tubes, so I had something else in mind, other than rowing, for my Pac 1000. First, I custom made a rear platform to hold two batteries and a second seat for my wife. Then I custom made two angled gimbal mount supports for the front allowing ample room to enter and exit. A Minn Kota 40 lb. thrust electric motor is mounted on one side and Cannon electric downrigger - when needed, fish finder and two rod holders are mounted on the other. For added stability in the wind, I mounted a catamaran rudder on a shaft with a tiller for control. I do big lake fishing for big trout at Strawberry and Flaming Gorge, sometimes covering 30 miles in a day trolling. I would not recommend this set up for white water, but for states like Utah with annual value based property taxes on boats, it is a real winner. the whole package fits in the back of my F-350 -overkill- and assembles on the water in under ten minutes. I love this boat!
Customer Service: Never contacted customer service. They would probably sue me for what I did to one of their fly fishing creations.

Summary: I have owned my pac 1000 for more than a year now and have logged alot of hours on the rivers of eastern Tn. I think for the money outcast has the best product in the kickboat world hands down. Iam 6'2" at 250 lbs its hard to find a boat that would carry me comfortably dry and out of the water. It handles like a dream rowing or with fins on. I was so impressed by the use I have gotten from it I bought my wife and son a pac 800..
Customer Service: Never had to use it, but in talking to them they seem more than willing to back their product.

Summary: We call the Pac1000 the 4x4 and the Pac9000 the sportscar. Despite its size, I find it easy to kick around without leg strain. If I had to pick my favorite, the Pac 9000 is the standard!!! However, if i knew the water was going to be BIG, the 1000 would be the choice.

Summary: Durable, but light weight. Great in all kinds of rivers --class IV. Great to fish from. Warning: The anchor rope doesn't fit into the cleat that's welded on to the frame. Outcast needs to fit it but they won't!
