Price Paid:  $300.00 at Rivers End Tackle

Summary:
If you are looking for the last pair of fishing pliers you are ever going need/own Van Stalls are it. Titanium makes them a truly rust free plier in a salt water environment. Also supplied is a top guality coiled lanyard and a form fit leather sheath. For surfcasting I use a nylon sheath but the leather one is great for the boat. Once you get over the sticker price of these pliers, you'll love them. The price will also encourage you look after them.

Summary:
Fantastic product. The price is a bit high, but worth it considering the quality. If you tend to buy cheap cutters/pliars because you lose them, buy the lanyard for the V'Stalls. These cut through heavy wire like it is mono and can retreive hooks out of the most stubborn of fishes. I use VS fly and spinning reels as well and these are the same quality I expect from Van Staal.

Strengths:
Placement and strength of cutters, ability to hold on to hooks and no rusting.

Summary:
Greatest Pliers on the Market!!!

Strengths:
After 25 years of fishing with substandard pliers, I have found these the best. They are great when your hands are wet and by having the cutters (real cutters) built on to the side of the pliers are very convenient. These pliers also fit well in the leather holster and the cord keeper has paid for itself more than once. Well worth the investment.

Summary:
I highly recomend these to fishermen who demand the best equipment.

Strengths:
These are simply the best! They are easy to hold when wet, the jaws meet perfectly, and the cutter is well placed. I had some Abels which were very disappointing and the Van Stalls are in my view just much better tools.

Weaknesses:
None
