at Cabelas catalogue Body of Water: Local lakes and streams. Bennett Springs in Missouri Favorite City: Lebanon Favorite State: Missouri Favorite Country: USA Summary: In the shallow clear spring creeks I normally fish, small tippets are a must if you want to consistantly catch fish. Break offs are not uncommon with the 7X tippets that are traditionally used in this application. By switching to Cabelas' Fleurocarbon tippets, I have found I can use a 5X tippet and still catch fish consistantly. It is truly invisible to fish. It casts well and has little memory. I have had no break offs using this tippet. I have used both the knotless tippets and the spooled tippet and am impressed with both. The cast well and knot strength is good provided you take the time to tie a good knot. I like is so well, I have ordered 2 more 30 meter spools and 6 more knotless tippets. This came to about $64.00+shipping. It is well worth the extra cost. Strengths: very low visibility to fish. Low memory. Rolls over well and casts well.
Weaknesses: Somewhat pricy. Must ensure you tie a good knot. I use an improved clinch or palomar knot. Lube line when cinching up knot. The spooled tippet material is hard to get off the spool. Cabelas needs to make a spool that has a keeper to put the tag end into. Customer Service: Cabelas' service is outstanding. Similar Products Used: Orvis Mirage, Umpqua, Scientific Anglers.
