at Ebay Summary: First, I cannot overstate how rugged this bag is. The canvas is waxed, heavy and thick (like an old army tent). The leather is stiff and thick like reins. It looks like it could be used continuously for decades without wearing out. The outer straps and flap add a nice level of security to the zipper from rain or unwanted fingers.
Second, it is designed to be a carry-on bag (clearly within regulations). Yet if you pack efficiently, it can hold enough for a week and still fit in the overhead compartment of a small jet. So a lot of capacity in a fairly compact shape since it expand quite a bit especially in thickness. This is why I like it over other travel bags by Filson - it's more compact dimensions plus the security of the flap&straps.
Weaknesses? Well, it does smell strongly of waxed cotton (like an army tent again!). And the design may be too simple or rustic for some with just one central compartment and two outside pockets. It also does not have a frame so it tends to work best when at least half-filled. But these are minor. Even when compared to other high quality canvas bags (like my vintage US made North Face bag from the early 90s), this bag stands apart. I gave it 3 stars on value because it's very expensive at $410 and other high quality alternatives are probably available for half this price from companies like Red Oxx or Tom Bihn (though none will be coveted by your heirs 50 years from now like this bag). The cost of this bag also makes me a bit reticent about checking it too so that could be viewed as a weakness by some! Customer Service: Excellent. Had to contact them for replacement strap. at Hansen's, Vancouver Body of Water: Bonaventure River Summary: Wonderful bag. Holds a ton. Strengths: It's a Filson. Weaknesses: Air Canada stained it badly after 2 flights. Tough to clean. Customer Service: Superb on other pieces. Never needed with this bag. Similar Products Used: Several other Filson products. They're all the best.

at Catalog Summary: This is simply some of the best luggage available. Very easy to travel with and straps are great to secure the bag. The only fault with this particular model is that I wish it were slightly larger. The current size is right for it's intended purpose, but a larger bag would be nice. It is a great compliment to the Garment bag, and both are carry on size. NO CHECK BAGGAGE LINE. Strengths: Quality, design, durability. Weaknesses: Tan color soils.
