at Various Summary: I own 7 of the 8 models of the Fast Retrieve (FR) series reel, four direct drive and 3 anti reverse reels in sizes 6 - 12. These are the finest examples of the powerful fly reels made to tame the ocean's meanest sport fish during that short time when strong gear and big fish came together With today's overfishing and ocean depletion its a time we will not see again.
These reels are built like bank vaults. They have massive yet smooth cork drags that are easily accessible to accommodate long running fish. Fit and finish are unmatched and of course there is the mystique of 70 years of traditional "Legendary Tackle"
Now the stuff of collectors, if you can find one snap it up, these reels can do nothing but increase in value. Customer Service: None exists for this now defunct company. The name has been revived, purchased as a marketing ploy, but the reels that bear the name Fin Nor are now made by Zebco. Enough said. Similar Products Used: Orvis, Hardy, Penn

at eBay Body of Water: Baja California, Mexico Favorite City: Silicon Valley Favorite State: CA Favorite Country: USA Summary: Great reel that's built like a brick. Can take a beating, maintain a smooth drag. Big fish to stress your tackle. The Fin Nor stayed steadyfast. Strengths: Smooth drag with a solid build. Weaknesses: It's a little heavy, but after you've dropped it a few times, you're kinda glad. After casting all day, you'r not. Customer Service: Don't know, never had to use it. Used Abel's neats foot oil, which is great. Similar Products Used: Abel, Tibor, Ross, Fenwick World Class Fly Reel (circ '80s), Penn International

at Cabela''s Body of Water: Saltwater Flats Summary: High quality reel, best suited for saltwater flyfishing. Too much reel for freshwater. Strengths: Excellent durability and stopping power on large fish, looks and sounds great Weaknesses: Heavy, reel seat too large for many newer fly rods, drag adjustment is too sensitive Customer Service: Average - I broke a pawl spring a few years back, Fin Nor fixed it but charged me 20 bucks Similar Products Used: Billy Pate A/R
