Summary:
Great product; crummy company.

Strengths:
Excellent reel with the smmothest drag I have ever used. I've used the reel to land several steelhead with no problem.

Weaknesses:
Pricey.

Customer Service:
As near as I can tell, customer service is non-existent. I needed a repair on the reel and despite numerous e-mails over several weeks I've received no respone (except for the auto-reply).

Summary:
Fuctionally a very good reel for the type of fishing I do. Only problem with PHOS I have experienced is their quality control. I know its only a sampling of one but no one wants to send that kind of money and have their reel fall off the rod the first trip and wreck their day.

Strengths:
Excellent surf reel for perch and small striped bass. Has large capacity for backing with a T-400 line. Very smooth drag system. Have had no problems handling everything I have hooked up too, although none have been over 8 lbs yet. Beautiful looking reel (very similar to the Abel).

Weaknesses:
Only weakness I have found is when you reassemble it from cleaning there is a good chance the you can misalign the center post and the "Lock Nut", which could cause stripped threads.

Customer Service:
On first fishing trip with is reel, I had the reel fall off the rod. There was only one thread engaged holding the foot unto the reel (poor quality control). It was fixed by PHOS by using a longer screw and adding blue death (Epoxy). I wasn't charged for the repair although it did cost me the shipping & handling plus a nice scratch on the reel when it fell off (it hit some rocks on the jetty).
