at ezflyfishing.com Summary: A beautiful piece of machinary. I have wanted a San Miguel since they were first introduced and this was well worth the wait. Just holding it you know it's something very special. Strengths: Beautifully designed and machined. Drag is possably TOO good as is the finish. I'm going to hate the first ding in this thing. Weaknesses: Price of course but somehow when it's seated on your rod, it all makes perfect sence. Customer Service: Not used, but I have an older Gunnison and have never had a reason to contact Ross. Similar Products Used: Hardy, Ross, Orvis, Bean, Martin.

at Bueters Outdoors Summary: I own a San Miguel Vision. Which is the lightweight version. I can not say enough about how great this reel is. I question the need to spend $500+ on fly reel. It is worth it. I almost don't want to fish with it as it is more like a piece of art than fishing equipment. Strengths: The drag is superb. The machining on this reel is perfect. Weaknesses: As fly reels go I see none.

, from Royal Oak, MI, U.S.A. Summary: Sharp looking reel and well engineered except the weight and fragile finish. Strengths: Good looking, smooth, customer service, prestige. Weaknesses: Heavy, little to no porting on spool and frame to lighten the reel and speed the drying of line and backing. Easily dinged and scratched. Customer Service: The best they say if ever needed, Similar Products Used: Bauer LOHR, Charlton 8350 (my new favorite!)

at gates ausable lodge Body of Water: ausable Favorite City: grayling Favorite State: michigan Favorite Country: usa Summary: This reel in my opionion is the best reel on the market. I would recommend this reel to anyone looking for a great reel to last a lifetime. Strengths: Beautifully machined reel with an incredibly smooth drag. I haven't found a smoothier drag yet and I've tried. The sealed drag keeps the drag from grinding after the reel takes a few bathes in the river.
Weaknesses: Price isn't a weakness when you get quality equipment. The finish does scratch so be careful. And the handle is plastic which should be wood. Customer Service: I have had to send in one of my san miguels for service and ross was excellent about getting it back in time for my fishing trip. Similar Products Used: redington large arbor 3-4,5-6,/ scientific anglers 4-5L, ross canyon 2.
