Summary:
I just received the Mastery 8/9. It is one solid reel! AT 8oz, it is just the right weight to balance my 9' 8/9wt rods -and this reel is built to last! Compared to my Teton - the full frame is about 3x thicker, and the anodizing is nice and heavy - and a dull black. I also like how the rim of the spool 'surrounds' the frame ring. Fast spool removal, yet there is NO spool wobble (as with the Teton). The drag-to-spool contact is via 3 thick 'pawls' which are secured by a metal ring on the spool that surrounds a gear attached to the disc drag system. Supposedly this drag system is meant for heavy fish and long runs - I have yet to test that though; nice range on the large center-mounted knob. A seperate clicker can be removed if desired, but makes a pleasant sound as is. Plenty of backing room on this standard arbor reel. I think this is a great value reel for Pike, Steelhead and the like

Strengths:
Solid and smooth - should hold up to anything. Full frame for strength. Excellent finish. Easy spool removal. Salt-water ready. Comes as right-hand retrieve (easily switched if necessary). Available for very low prices on-line - I bought a 2nd one as a spare 'spool'!

Weaknesses:
Standard arbor - would be perfect if available as an LA reel!

Customer Service:
Unknown so far!

Summary:
I have one S.A. Mastery EXP fly lines, it's a WF6 Floating. The line is very easy to cast, 70 feet which is to much for float fishing in not uncommen for me. It picks up very easy for a cast in another direction and roll casts easier than any line I've used to date. The line is easy to see on the water and the memory has improved(lack of) over the last 26 years. The old Air Cell Supreme line had memory that I even threw lines away because of. For a heavier lines it is a pleasure to work with. Floats high, easy casting, easy pick up and roll casting, and lack of memory are all in the product. The price may send you to a discout house, $54.

Strengths:
Easy casting, less memory, high floatablity

Weaknesses:
Expensive at $54

Customer Service:
Haven't needed any.
