Summary: I absolutley love my anvil apex vise! It's great for tying epoxy flies and can hold a wide range of hooks from sizes 32-7/0! THe only problem though is that you have to use an alan key to change the Head position. I would recommend this vise to any one on a tight budget.
Strengths: Rotary vise, hook holding power, comes with P/c, and price.
Weaknesses: the only weakness is that the clamp lever is actually the one you use to rotate the fly. SOme times you can accidently open the jaws and drop the fly!!!
Customer Service: Lewisandclarkflyshop.com did a great job and I am very pleased!!!

Summary: This vise is perhaps the best bang for the buck!!
Strengths: Just purchased this vise and find this to be an excellent value. I had to give my Dyna King (prince) back to it's rightfull owner so I've been looking for a good quality, compact and inexpensive vise since. I usually tie very small flies (22-18) and find this vise hold very well. The fit and finish of this vise is almost as good as the Dyna King, without the high price.
Weaknesses: The only criticism is the pedestal seems to light, could be slightly heavier!! I would score this as a 4.5 for this reason only.
Customer Service: Is excellent as I complained about the fitting from pedestal to shank as being misaligned and they sent out another immediately. Other than that, NONE.
