No kidding this is probably the best all around general purpose compass you can get. The nicest feature on it is a good magnetic declination adjustment. Believe me when you are cold, wet, tired and hungry try asking whether you add or subtract for 11 degrees East declination. You set this ahead of time and forget it. The adjustment key is part of the lanyard so it won't get lost.
