Reviewed by: davis2001r6 ,  Day Hiker

Price Paid:  $70.00 at REI Outlet

Summary:
I've used the Warpspeed mainly as a daypack. It's been great on all the hikes I've had it on. I have over 125 miles of use on it and no problems yet. Went on an overnighter backpacking trip and it worked fine. It was pushing it's limits on storage and weight though. I still managed to attach my tent to the bottom. Had more than enough food for 2 days, a 12 pack of beer, and a fishing pole. I was pushing around 35-40 pounds with it. It holds a gallon of water which is great in the desert of Phoenix. Overall I don't have any complaints about it.

It's a terrific day back thats just as light as some camelbacks with a lot more storage.

Customer Service:
The people are always great at REI. I had it shipped there to save on the shipping. It came in 2 days early.

Reviewed by: Robert ,  Backpacker

Price Paid:  $99.00 at REI

Summary:
Good pack. Pockets on the waist strap are very handy for often-used items. Pack fit nicely and carried more than enough gear while staying in place. The main problem is the zipper on the lid. It snagged on the fabric a few times and the last time really got stuck and while I tried to free it, the entire zipper pulled apart. (I didn't use much force as I had very cold hands and wasn't wearing gloves.) Keep in mind that this was my very first trip out with this pack!!!

Customer Service:
Deplorable. I told them about the zipper problem and they told me to ship it back. I said that I would but since the bag failed my first time out with it I expected NOT to pay to ship it for repair. I was told that I would have to pay to ship it back. I said that I didn't feel that was fair since I had only used it once and there obviously was a problem with the zipper. Again, I was told that I would have to pay shipping. (REI said that they would refund my full purchase price and return shipping if I decided to ship it back to them). So over $7 in shipping Ultimate Direction/Sierra Designs has lost a customer for life. Over the past year I have purchased SD rain gear and the UD Endorfun and the Warpspeed. Never again. If a company is so blind to customer service, I'm not making the same mistake again. I'll gladly return the bag to the good people at REI and I'll find another brand of pack that will fit my needs. Think before you ever purchase from Ultimate Direction/Sierra Designs again.
