This was one of the first packs I bought so I wasn't looking for huge bag. At the time the size was perfect but, unless completely full, the loads may became sloppy. The hipblet is to flimzy for the size of the bag and more weight is transfered to your shoulders. I was happy with the waterproofness of the bag, and I really liked the front flap. I bought the Eureka Glissade because of the perceived durability; the packbag was well constructed. I immediately ran into space constraints. My problem with the pack was this: any sort of average load (sleeping bag, pad, stove, the usual) required me to strap items externally. This makes the pack shifty and the weight bears down on your shoulders. Also noticed some wear on the inside of the shoulder straps, where some fine fabric is located.
I ended up going with a larger pack but intend to use the Glissade where the space of my Rockies would be overkill; at low altitudes when the weather is balmy and I do not need to pack a real sleeping bag/pad or carry water. Similar Products Used:

I bought this pack over the Jansport Minimalist because a strap pulled out on the first tug.This back is very well stitched and constructed. After rebending the aluminum braces it literally fit like a glove on my boney and curvacious wife. It has so many options in terms of strap adjustments that it is confusing at first. I was able to get it to balance well without much trouble in spite of the back pockets and that wierd flap which is convenient but maybe unnecessary. I moved straps and raised the top pocket with my sewing machine to personalize it. It now carries quite a bit and is very comforatble. Customer Service:
