at Rei-Outlet Summary: Great pack! But, I really miss my old style redwing (sadley stolen.) Anyway, I can fit enough for 3-4 days easily. I do also miss the padded waist belt, but it is nice that these will tuck away into zippered pouches.
Overall, rugged. I am hard on gear and this one hasn't ripped or stretched a seam yet. Similar Products Used: Kelty Red Wing

at campmor.com Summary: So far the Kelty Tempest has been great. I could fit every thing i needed for a five day trip, and, with all the straps and loops, you can add tons of gear. I put a pad on the waist strap so it would be more comfortable. I have also gone on a couple 3 days and day hikes with it. Its been good for all. Great and durible product after all. Customer Service: N/A Similar Products Used: Lots of internal and external frame packs, day packs and others.

at Dunham's Summary: I bought this pack when they first introduced it. My pack had a padded waist belt! I can't fathom why they stopped making it with this feature! I took it on an overnight with a tent, sleeping bag, & other gear. (about 35lbs. fully loaded) It worked great. since it has loops on top & bottom of the pack you can carry a lot of extras.
Very light! very durable! the bottle pockes on the side are useless.
Great value if they simply put the padding back in the waist belt, otherwise I would'nt use it for anything more than a day hike.

, from indiana Summary: Great pck overall that can tackle a variety of duties. Definetly can't take super-heavy loads, since the hip belt is not padded. Worked great for my weekend trips and overnight hikes. Not too bulky when fully packed, thanks to it's several cinch straps that pull down and across the pack. Good for light loads or fast trail hiking. Also sweet for ultra-light loads and overnight stays... Similar Products Used: None
