Price Paid:  $80.00 at Campmor.com

Summary:
Great pack for the money! Seems have stretched a little, only after 2 years of hard use.

Holds plenty for a weeks journey. Good features and an awesome color. If I could change anything about it, I would put a zipper at the bottom instead of the side.

Overall, great pack.

Price Paid:  $140.00

Summary:
I've used this pack for about a year now. It has been with me to the Grand Canyon, Sierra Nevada, Mt. Whitney.

I've even taken it with me to South America.

This has been a great pack, very comfortable, tons of room. For the price, it cannot be beat...Would highly reccomend.

Summary:
I have been using this pack for over a year for frequent weekend trips to the Sierras as well as a recent trip to Alaska. It fits comfortably and I have had no problems whatsoever. The top pocket is great for quick access to items (trail mix, insect repellent...) and the side zipper is nice if you need to pull something out during the day. A great deal!

Summary:
You should NOT have to pay a lot for a decent pack. And this pack fits that to a Tee. I've used this pack for a year so far, including snowcamping/backcountry snowboarding. It's comfortable, well built, Simple. Everything works as it should, and there are just the right # of straps to adjust and play with. A perfect size for 7 day trips in summer w/ a 35ish lb pack, and for 3-4 winter trips. There are about a million places to strap on bulky gear on the outside of the pack. Water bottle holders big enough for liter bottles and lid is roomy (can be made into removeable day bag w/ minor adjustments).
Really, save yourself some dough and pick up this pack.

REI Newstar: poorly built, bad hip belt. Busted zipper.
Also, older external frame packs, but they no longer suit my travel well.

Summary:
A great pack for someone on a budget. I have found it to be plenty large enough to handle gear for four-five days, and if there is another person along to spread common gear, i think a minimalist could get six out of it. It has been plenty comfortable for me, and carries a 35-40 lb load with no problems. Access through the top and side pocket is nice, and the pack seems to hold up under all sorts of normal wear and tear. I am a firm kelty believer and this has not dissapointed me.
