Summary:
I had owned the old North Face Snow Leopard for 13 years and never thought I could find another one, as North Face started making in my opinion inferior packs. So I was looking at back packs at a serious Mountaineering shop in Portland back in 2004 when I saw the Vortex It is about as heavy as the old Snow Leopard but it is how a pack carries on your back that makes the difference not just the weight My Vortex is the finest of the new breed of expedition Packs that I have found Bar None

Price Paid:  $100.00 at Vortex Backpacks

Summary:
I've had my STX for just over a year now, and have certainly put it through its paces. I just returned from 6 weeks in Europe durring which time I carried it everywhere from the Highlands of Scotland to the base of the Eiger, and even entrusted to airline baggage check ;)... all without issue, complaint, or back aches!
The ergonomic support system the pack is built around makes any load easy to shoulder. The padding is firm, big deal though, it feels better and lasts longer than soft.
Overpack it all you like, all zippers are supplemented with compression straps, not to mention kevlar stitching and double-tacked stress points.
Honestly, I can't imagine a better pack. If you need something bigger or smaller the rest of their line is built around the same bomber construction philosophy. A little pricey at retail but well worth it.

Customer Service:
All packs covered by unconditional, no questions asked, life-time warranty. Send it back for free repairs. Additionally, Vortex is known for supporting customers no matter where they are. This includ

Summary:
!!!**WOW**!!!
Now that I've got your attention, Read on to find out all about this Kick Ass pack. You can't beat the design, comfort, aesthetics, and the Company. They have an unconditional lifetime warranty. They don't care what happened, if they're pack couldn't take on the Mack Truck, they'll replace free of charge. Kevlar stitched, Poly-Carb frame, Cordura pack, this thing keeps going. It's designed by guys who love to do this stuff, so this pack makes perfect sense. Rubberized zippers make easy grabs with gloves. Streamlined design keeps snagging down. Easy access to all compartments. They've invested tons of time to make a unique suspension that actually works =). I can't say enough about this pack. Visit VortexBackpacks.com to learn more, and Dylan (Dylan@vortexbackpacks.com) is a great help too.

Customer Service:
Awesome, between Rich at Frontier Adventure and the people at Vortex I got my pack with a couple bonuses and a letter of apology due to the time I had to wait for the pack. Service is very attentitive
