at REI Summary: After struggling with a pair of Montrail Moraine AT's that ate up my heels, and were way too heavy, and never broke in, I wisened up and bought these gems. Actually, my friend bought them first so I owe it to him.
THese boots have enough support to take a load, yet flex enough to climb. I recommend seam gripping the seams and double Nikwax them when they're brand new and clean. Otherwise, the leather WILL get wet, though you won't. There are a few seams, but that is to be expected with a boot this light weight. They really are an EXCELLENT compromise between weight and support. And, I wore them RIGHT AWAY with no break in and no pain. I utterly boast and recommend these boots for anyone, for dayhiking or backpacking. They also have ball bearings in the first few eyelets, making lacing a BREEZE. Trust me, do yourself a favor and get these boots. THey are the BOMB. AND, THEY'RE IN THE CLEARANCE BIN ON THE LOWA WEBSITE RIGHT NOW!!! 139.00!!! I PAID FRIGGIN' FULL PRICE!!! THANK ME LATER....
I got mine a half size large and put Superfeet in them. The stock footbeds suck. THese Lowas seem to have a narrow toe box, and I wear liners and Smartwool most of the time with these anyway.
These boots make me SO HAPPY;) Customer Service: Haven''t needed it yet Similar Products Used: Montrail Moraine AT, Asolo ???(they shrunk on me)
