, from Lawrence, KS Summary: I am a Park Ranger and I had to purchase a set of black shoes to wera with my uniform. Because of the hiking and tromping around I do on my job and in my liesure, I decided to spend the BUCKS that these cost, knowing that in theory, anyway, Vasque makes quality boots. From DAY ONE these boots were the best. I have owned this pair of Eclipse boots (black sundowners) for two and a half years now. Literally, these boots have been on my feet at least 6 of 7 days a week for the entire last 2+ years. To school, to the bar, to work, around town, everywhere (except when I'm in my Tevas). The soles are finally beginning to wear and I am planning to resole them before my NOLS trip in January. Periodic rinses in water to get the dirt off, occassional conditionings with leather conditioners and leather cleaners, and occassional recoating with Mickwax and you'll have shoes to last you a long time. Going on three years and I can still stand in the water for minutes without a drop touching my feet. The variable footbedd system is handy in perfecting the fit, and I highly recommend spending lots of time ensuring the best fit in their wide array of sizes. Worth every cent, though the price was a little intimidating at first. Similar Products Used: Hi-Tech boots = good for an annual boot buyer. Loved 'em until about my third pair in a year. Hitech boots = around town tennis shoes. Vasque boots = REAL BOOTS!

, from Amarillo, Texas, USA Summary: I recently purchased a pair of Vasque Eclipse boots. I chose these boots because of their color. I am able to wear them with my uniform as a paramedic, as well as backpacking. Expensive, but so far, worth every penny!! I love having dry feet after standing in a wet ditch for a wreck, and during a few rain storms since buying them! The break-in was not so fun, as I have read is the case with "Sundowner" type boots, but they are great following that! Similar Products Used: None
