Price Paid:  $320.00 at Feathered Friends 80

Summary:
This is a fine sleeping bag, although a bit pricy. Part of the reason I selected this back was due to the fact that it is manufactured in the USA, could be customized (girth, length, material, fill), and had 750 down and a good recommendation. The bag is well made and has kept me warm in the Colorado Mountains in June at 11000 feet. The zipper operates smoothly. Not much more I could ask for.

Customer Service:
I was very disappointed in this area. I called to disuss features of their bags. Since I don't live in the NW USA and I couldn't visit their brick-and-mortar store, I decided (upon advice of the Customer Service rep) to order 2 bags, try out the fit, and return the one that didn't fit as well. I did this and shipped back the bag that I didn't like (not the hummingbird). A few days later I got a call from a different Customer Service rep claiming that the bag came back to dirty to sell as new and that they would require a $50 cleaning fee. The bag was tested at my house, not outside... ever.

This was very frustrating since THEY'RE customer service rep recommended the order-2-return-one idea. Due to this I've ended up paying nearly $400 (including the return shipping) for a bag that, had I gone to REI, EMS, etc and tried out a TNF, MARMOT, etc. I could have spent $250 and gotten comparable.

Similar Products Used:
TNF Hightail.
Marmot Pinnacle.

Did not go with these for weight reasons, customizability reasons, and made in the USA reasons, but if I was going to do it over again, I would probably get TNF.

Summary:
in the summer i live in my sleepingbag and had been coveting down for a while. i think this is a great bag. the cut is good for me, but i am narrow through the shoulders. i mostly sleep without a tent and though i would often wake to a dew soaked world, the down consistently stayed dry (epic fabric). the only thing i would change on my bag is the zipper - i don't think the minimal amount of weight saved by going with a 3/4 length justifies the foregoing foot ventilation.

Price Paid:  $300.00 at Feathered Friends

Summary:
I used this bag on my 2002 PCT thru hike. The price, $300, is comparable to other mass produced lightweight bags. My bag was made using 800 fill with 2 oz of overfill, the full length zipper, and the lightweight nylon shell. It weighed in on my digital scales at 1 lb 12 oz. I would guess that the temperature rating would be around 15 degrees. Overall the quality is top notch. Beware, this bag is cut for skinny folk. I weight 135 lb and I thought it was a tight squeeze.

I had zero problems with mine over the whole 2650 miles. It's perfect for a long distance hike.

I would recommend this bag to anyone interested in going light and fast and those interested in long distance hiking.

Customer Service:
Never had to use but have heard good things.

Price Paid:  $320.00 at Feathered Frinds

Summary:
Have had my bag for 2 years and I love it.I sleep cold and had it over stuffed. That is one advantage to FF bags, you get them your way. It is about a 10* bag and has been fine for me down to 20*. It packs as small as my 35* syn. bag and weighs on 5oz. more ,40 vs 35. I purchased the bag because of the attention to detail the company provides and I was not disapointed. I would buy again.

Customer Service:
Very helpful.

Since the purchase of this sleeping bag I have gone camping and hiking in many areas and have not been dissapointed in this bag. Great for saving space when going hiking and good enough to keep you warm on some pretty cold nights...Look into this company and sleeping bag for future purchases...I will
