Price Paid:  $115.00 at Coast Mountain Sport

Summary:
I have several sleeping bags but was looking for the lightest one that would get me through -30C for Search and Rescue applications. Given the rating and price I went with the D/Dream. Have since used it as my regular bag lots due to it's light weight and find it fine but somewhat overrated in terms of comfort at rated temperature (I'm a cold sleeper). Nice product nevertheless even if I have to wear woolies and use a liner when it's past -10C. Am planning a Kilimanjaro trek and expect that with the liner and possibly an overbag it should perform well in the anticipated -25C temperatures on top. The nice thing is it's light and with the mentioned extras it can serve in a variety of conditions. Add wool socks, a toque, and wear your polypro undies for pj's and it should do you down to -30 which is what I was looking for.

I also have a Canadian Army surplus double down bag rated for -40, and it's a real -40C bag but even though it's down filled it weighs too much to pack around. Also a really nice and warm synthetic bag that's also a bit too heavy for trekking and a super light one for emergency and unexpected overnights when you're searching and the pickup doesn't come that I hope to never have to use. In my opinion the D/Diamond will do it for you in mild temperatures and in colder ones if you go to bed wearing some extra gear. Keep it clean.

Price Paid:  $130.00 at Local supplier

Summary:
I just purchased 3 weeks ago and have used it only twice......and unfortunately it was so hot and humid I slept on top if it all night.

So that being said it makes an excellent but rather expensive sleeping mat!

MEC Bag - cannot remember the name. Pretty good but wanted a down bag for the performance and size.
